As we reached the place, I was astounded to see the high walls of the gym. We went towards the counter where the guide asked me to fill out a form with my information since it was my first time at the gym. He then handed me a membership card before giving me the harness and shoes for climbing. We kept our belongings in one corner and then went to climb the first wall. Here the guide showed me in two separate attempts how to climb the wall and belay the rope for your partner.
The first two walls were fairly easy for me although it did require a lot of strength to reach the top. The next few walls were harder as I had to figure out where to put my foot without falling. It is a fairly safe climb because the person belaying the rope locks the rope so that even if the climber loses grip of the wall he/she will not fall to the ground but instead stays hanging in mid air.
After the first few walls we were ready to take the challenge to climb the slanting walls. It was a much harder climb and it was not possible for me to climb the hardest two slanting walls which required greater strength and skill. Climbing the stairs made of rope was also a fun and challenging task.
