Hide the credit card
Bring lots of cash and all of your loose change because there will be plenty of traders who are keen to sell their wares. Everything from novelty dice to scale figurines will be available from retailers such as Eureka Miniatures and The Combat Company. See here for the list.
Play a game
To compete in the official tournaments over the Cancon weekend visit the website and follow the instructions to apply. There are many games to get involved in. Pilot a TIE fighter and blast the rebels in the tabletop dogfight simulation Star Wars: X-Wing; skirmish with comic book icons and super villains in the kid-friendly collectible game Hero Clix; or lead an army from the 41st millennium in Game Workshop's popular Warhammer 40,000.
If you are more excited about casual gaming Cancon are hosting tables for the general public to participate. Immerse yourself in a WWII themed operation or check out the latest Fantasy Flight Games demonstration.
Board Games Library
There is a special space at Cancon just for playing simple out-of-the-box games like Risk and Monopoly. There are over 150 games just waiting to be played with. Volunteers at the event will be available to help explain rules and so on.
