I've always been a lover of wine, mostly white but the occasional red as well. So nothing makes me happier than to hear about the Canberra District wine week, which is on from the 5th to the 14th of April, so technically a little more than a week, but who is counting when wine is involved!



With over 40 events on during the Canberra District Wine Week, there will be something for everyone's tastes. Here is a selection of some of the events on offer:

Canberra District Wine Week Launch event

To celebrate the launch of the Canberra District Wine week, there will be the annual Wine Tasting event in New Acton with more than 50 wines on offer. Tickets include a Canberra Wines 'Tasting Glass' and good will be available for purchase.

March 30th | New Acton Precinct | 2pm to 6pm | $25 presale and $30 at the door

Pilates in the Vineyard

Join Mary Cullen (owner of Lucas Studios) and Enotria Wines as they celebrate Wine Week with "Pilates in the Vineyard". Enjoy a relaxing Pilates class while taking in the fantastic views of the vineyard. Then take some time to sample the fruits of the vines.

April 6th | Enotria Wines | 2:30pm to 5:30pm | $32

Wine Flights and live jazz

The Canberra Wine House will be hosting a Saturday evening filled with Wine Flights and live jazz! For $25, people will be able to try
8 Canberra region wines while listening to the Annaliesa Rose Trio, performing live from 6.30pm 9.30pm.

Watercolours and Wines

Come and enjoy a fun evening of watercolours and wine. Watercolour artist Stephanie Elizabeth will be there to guide you through the steps of creating your own work. The ticket includes all materials, two glasses of wine and some nibbles for the evening.

April 12th and 13th | Four Winds Vineyard | 6pm to 9pm | $60

Grape Stomping at Murrumbateman Winery

Join in on a tradition that has been occurring for centuries by jumping into a half barrel and stomping some grapes. After much stomping, stay on at cellar door for live music, wine tasting, and their delicious tasting plates.

April 6th | Murrumbateman Winery | 10am to 5pm | Free

Harvest Festival at Yarrh Wines

Yarrh Wine will be celebrating the Wine harvest with a harvest festival. Sample freshly fermented wines along with the current range between 11am to 5pm. From 11am to 4pm try the fresh autumn food and wine matches. There will be scarecrows and people can post them on Facebook or tag Instagram for a chance to win a 6 pack of wine. Live music will also be on to help with the festival atmosphere from 1pm to 3pm.

Sunday Sounds in Wine Week

Gundog Winery will be showcasing some cool climate wines at the event, with the Burton McMahon Chardonnay and Pinot Noir on offer! Kurt Neumann and Grazing will cater a paired dish to the wine, Jazz tunes by Eric and James from Tilt Trio will accompany the food and wine. Tickets include a main meal plus one glass of wine per person.
