New to Canberra, I love exploring this city and the secrets that it holds with my family.
Bag pipes, highland dancing, caber tossing & family fun
The Canberra Burns Club Highland Gathering is an annual event, held at Kambah Oval in Tuggeranong. This popular and free event is highly anticipated each year with a wide range of entertainment for all ages. The day begins at 10am and visitors can wander the Scottish-themed market stalls, watch Highland Dancing Competitions, listen to the array of pipe bands in the ACT Pipe Band Championships, enjoy Scottish Highland Dancing displays and taste food from a variety of food trucks and traditional Scottish food vendors. The highlight for many people is the Caber Tossing and strong man championships held each year - with outstanding performances of strength and determination. For kids, there is also face painting and jumping castles. The event concludes at 5pm.

Stay for the whole day and enjoy the jam-packed program of events. See the event website for more details.
