The Beijing Garden is located at Lotus Bay on Lake Burley Griffin, adjacent to Nara Park and Lennox Gardens.
Completed in November 2014, these gardens are a Canberra Centenary gift from the Beijing Municipal Government. A team of Chinese artisans came from China to create the garden's sculptures and pavilion using traditional Chinese stone masonry and methods. They also created the paths, rock gardens and beautiful landscaping using the same methods.

The gardens are designed in the Imperial Garden style of the Qing Dynasty.

Handcrafted walkways and stairs made by Chinese stonemasons.
The main pavilion by the lake was built using marble and timber imported from China and using traditional building methods, such as interlocking joints.
As you walk around the peaceful, reflective gardens there are traditional sculptures to admire.

Stone of Appreciation from Tai Lake - this piece of limestone is from Tai Lake near Shanghai. Limestone pieces such as these were often used as garden ornaments in the Tang Dynasty.

Stone sculptures depicting Chinese mythology.
With Spring almost upon us it is a beautiful reserve on Lotus Bay to enjoy scenic lake views and have a BBQ at one of the two BBQ areas near the gardens.
There is also another BBQ area closeby at Lennox Gardens.

Canberra Beijing Garden is a spiritual garden to wander through whilst enjoying the scent of the flowering blossoms. With so many beautiful reserves and parks along Lake Burley Griffin, Canberra Beijing Garden would have to be one of the highlights for us all to enjoy.
