Canberra has a flourishing wine industry with more than 140 vineyards and 30 cellar doors within a 35-minute drive of the city. It is an industry that began over 160 years ago and due to the variety of altitudes, variance in temperature and different soil types produces a range of wine. Some of these wines include Sangiovese, Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Shiraz, Tempranillo and rare varieties like Gruner Veltliner.
So the Canberra & Region Wine Show Public Tasting is the perfect opportunity to taste some of these amazing wines that the Canberra region has to offer. The Canberra Wine House has selected winemakers from the Canberra and Region Wine Show to show a variety of their award-winning wines to the public at this event. It will offer a range of Canberra region cool-climate wines, grazing platters stacked with mouth-watering local produce and the opportunity to meet the makers themselves. Tickets are essential and include wine tasting and nibbles.
