Celebrate Canada Day here for a great afternoon and evening
This year, organisers are aiming for the biggest Canada Day celebration in the southern hemisphere ... again!

On 1st July 1867, Canada became a self-governing dominion of Great Britain, as well as a federation of four provinces: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Ontario and Quebec.

Since 1983, 1st July has been officially known as Canada Day (when it was formerly Dominion Day). This day is a public holiday throughout Canada.

Sydney will also be celebrating Canada Day and some of the events to mark this day include:

$15,000 in prizes including a trip for 2 to Vancouver and Auckland, thanks to Air New Zealand
Street hockey tournament
Canadian and RnB/Soul DJ's
Caesars, Molsons, Poutine, Perogies and Wings
Trivia competitions, game shows and surprises
50 tonnes of snow

This will be indoors and outdoors and there will be two DJ areas simultaneously! So much will be happening here.

This year, it will be bigger and better with way more food, more Caesars and more staff!

If you get there before 5 pm, the entry fee will be $5, but only if you are dressed "Canadian". No Canadian dress, entry fee is $10. Entry after 5 pm is $10 if dressed "Canadian" and $20 if not dressed Canadian.

The doors will open at 2.00 pm and after that the following will occur:

Street Hockey Tournament starts
Bar opens with $10 Caesars
Kitchen opens with real poutine, and proper wings
Get your Perogies, Fatboy burgers, chilli dogs, Brooklyn boy buns, and other Canadian favourites

Children are also welcome during this time, as long as they're accompanied by a parent. There'll be some children's meals and possibly even a "junior hockey shoot-out".

4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Trivia Competition and Game Shows - 3 rounds of their famous team trivia from 4 pm to 6:30 pm with over $1,500 of prizes, giveaways and other fun challenges for everyone

7:30 pm to 10:30 pm
Lots of giveaways, some surprises, plus the Canadian Club Whisky will be running some fun and games.

8:00 pm till late
Main stage will have all things Canadian to start with and then into hip-hop, house and your favourites. There will be RnB/Hip-Hop master, DLAKE and others. They will take over the "Chapel" spinning Soulful House, Funk, Old-School Party Jams, R&B

9:00 pm and 11:00 pm
Charity raffles and free door prize draws including a return trip for two to Vancouver via Auckland.

As previously, proceeds from the charity raffle are going to support local community projects of United Way. Raffle tickets will be available on the night at the raffle table located on the main level.

2:00 pm to 6:00 pm
This is free to play and Skaters Network are supplying all sticks, nets, balls, etc. There will also be $1,000 worth of prizes for the tournament.

Some of the basic rules for this include:

There's some limited table bookings available for 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm seatings. You can request a table online at this link.

There will also be lots of tables open for walk-ins and there's plenty of space for eating, drinking, dancing, fun, and games.

The venue is right above the North Sydney Train Station - you, therefore, should not drive if you are going to drink. But if you do, parking is a maximum of $10 all day (you can leave any time up to 4am). However, it is also FREE after 4:00 pm with validation from the Greenwood Hotel.
