For any foodie out there, Campsie is the place to be on Saturday, 31st May for the annual Campsie Food Festival.

Now in its 15th year, the 2014 Campsie Food Festival will showcase the international flavours that make this suburb so unique. With dishes from over twenty different countries, you'll be able to sample treats from China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Greece, Colombia, Turkey and Korea.

Celebrated Korean chef Heather Jeong will do a special demonstration of some of the Korean dishes that have made her so well known, and Chinese chef Charlie Yan will also give people a good look at his award winning fruit and vegetable carvings, and will share his tips on preparing the perfect dumpling.

But not only is the Campsie Food Festival about great grub from around the world, it's also about healthy eating. You can take part in a range of family health challenges, where participants will tested through a series of checkpoints collecting various healthy lunch box items and answering trivial food questions as they go. Once you've completed all the checkpoints, you'll receive a token to the Bike 'n' Blend where you can create fresh fruit smoothies by powering up the blender and riding a bike at the same time! Other family fitness programs include Tai Chi and Pilates sessions in Anzac Park, as well as access to an onsite fitness instructor who will be able to provide advice for your health and fitness.

If you'd also like to do a food tour, the Taste – Campsie Food Tours bookings will be taken on the day at The Benevolent Society stall next to the clock tower in Anzac mall. The tour will cost $5 per person, and includes a Taste shopping bag to collect samples and recipe cards. Capacity is 20 people per tour group.

"We are fortunate to live in a community where we can share each other's rich traditions and enjoy wonderful cultural cuisines, and those cuisines will be on display at the festival," Mayor Brian Robson said. "The Campsie Food Festival is a feast of flavours and with so much delicious food on offer, I encourage everyone to join the 'pilgrimage of foodies' to Beamish Street, Campsie."
