Enjoy a cup of chai and hear stories from former refugees
This Wednesday, come along to Abbotsford Convent after work and enjoy a special, free community event as part of the Emerge in Yarra Festival.

The event - 'Campfire Stories' - will run from 6:30pm-9pm and begin with all guests receiving a cup of chai from former Syrian refugees, followed by a performance and Welcome to Country by the Djirri Djirri Dance Group.

The evening will then feature a series of stories from four Victorians who arrived in Australia as refugees - Bwe Thay from Myanmar, Iqbal Safari from Afghanistan, Lizzy Kouth from South Sudan, and Salat Youhana from Iraq.

The event is free, however, bookings are required and can be made online.
