Mawson Park in Campbelltown this Saturday will see the finale of the extraordinary conclusion of the Kangaroo March re-enactment after a hard 36-day journey.

Starting at Wagga Wagga, the re-enactment group of over 200 have passed through Junee, Illabo, Bethungra, Cootamundra, Wallendbean, Galong, Goondah, Binalong, Bowning, Yass, Goulburn, Wingello, Bundanoon, Sutton Forest, Moss Vale, Mittagong, Picton, Camden and lastly Campbelltown

The re-enactment focuses on commemorating the historic event of the Kangaroo Recruiting March undertaken in 1915, inspiring current generations to reflect on the value of WW1 sacrifices and educating the community on the history of the long and continuing fight for freedom.

More than 200 'recruits' will march into Campbelltown as they complete the final kilometres of the journey. In true Campbelltown spirit, the city will welcome the group of "recruits'' at their last stop with a formal Valedictory Commemoration ceremony, featuring a number of addresses and entertainment by local community bands in Mawson Park.

A mayoral reception will follow at the Campbelltown Arts Centre.
