Five Dock is in Sydney's inner western suburbs, it's part of the suburbs that make up "Little Italy". Along with Leichhardt and Haberfield, Five Dock is known as a foodie haven if you like fresh produce with an Italian flavour. For meat lovers there are a few butchers to choose from in Five Dock but Caminiti's has recently revamped and the look is fresh, clean and inviting.



For me it's the variety of homemade meals that keeps me shopping there. Don't go to Caminiti's if you are looking for a cheap cut, leave that to the larger supermarkets. Caminiti's is a gourmet butcher where you will find something different and tasty. Many of the prepared meals are true to the Sicilian traditions, which means they are full of flavour and spices.

Small businesses such as are the backbone (yes, I meant that as a joke) of many suburbs around Sydney and I feel we should support local businesses just like this one. Sure, the larger supermarkets are cheaper and convenient but for service, charm and something different, you can't go past your local small business.

Take a look at the revamped shop and you'll see why I enjoy shopping at this local business.
