Pre-eminent accompanist David Wickham will be joined by rising young artists Ileana Rinaldi (mezzo soprano) and Sam Roberts-Smith (baritone) for the latest edition of SwanSongs at the Perth Town Hall on Sunday the 31st of July, 3pm.
Now in its 4th year, SwanSongs is about creating a special place for art and song to flourish and soar.
At this upcoming event, audiences will be treated to a beautiful programme of songs by master opera composers, including Wagner's powerful Wesendonck Lieder, and songs by Bizet, Donizetti, Saint-Säens, Richard Strauss, Verdi and Korngold.
Ileana and Sam are this year's Wesfarmers Arts Mentored Artists for the West Australian Opera and have established themselves right at the heart of Opera in Australia. They have sung principal roles for West Australian Opera, for Opera Australia and in Japan, China and beyond to much acclaim and in Cameos they will be showcasing the genius of celebrated composers in delightful miniatures, with all the melody and passion that you'd expect.
Accompanist, David Wickham states "It's a very special pleasure to perform with these two wonderful singers, who I have seen rising up the ranks for more than a decade."
All are welcome to come along to the Perth Town Hall on the 31st of July 2016. In this beautiful setting, audiences are sure to be delighted by the magic and passion of song!
Tickets are now on sale and are priced $45 for general admission and $120 for a series subscription.
