There are some flowers that don't only bloom in spring but can adapt to all climates and some varieties love a cooler climate. A favourite flower of mine is the camellia, a very hardy flower that can grow in any garden. Some plants have been known to reach over 100 years old. If you want to admire a wide selection of camellias and learn what variety would suit your garden design, then you won't want to miss the
Camellia Show on
Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th July.
This is the
NSW Camellia Research Society's 48th Annual CAMELLIA SHOW held at Ravenswood School, Gordon. It will be open 1.30 to 4.30pm Saturday, 10am to 4pm Sunday.
Enjoy a floral extravaganza and see more than 1,000 beautiful specimen blooms on display.
These are just some of the varieties of camellias I love:
Japonicas
On the day there will also be a photography competition along with displays of ikebana, bonsai and historic camellias from Camellia Ark.
Refreshments will be available and camellias for sale.
Admission: Adults $7, School children are free.
