Port Macquarie Camel Safari is an amazing experience to share with your children.

Each ride takes approximately 30 minutes along the beautiful Lighthouse Beach (located at the Southern end) - there are usually about 5 camels and 2 people per camel, with 2 guides walking along with you.

In case you are wondering, the camels are dromedary camels and have one hump. This type of camel is common to Africa and the Middle East, but now are relatively common in Australia and North America.

The camel guides not only educate you about these graceful, friendly animals, but have you laughing along the way.

The rides usually operate from Sunday - Friday between 9.30am - 1pm, however this depends on the weather.

If you are lucky, you can sometimes see dolphins dancing the waves and during whale season you can even spot a whale.

The rides are very safe and suitble even for small children. It is definitely an experience of a lifetime, so don't forget to bring your camera!
