Enjoy a taste of French culture at the 150th anniversary fair at the Camberwell Primary School on Saturday 25th March 2017. The day will include a program full of all the sights, sounds, colours and tastes of French chic from music to food and arts & crafts, with all proceeds raised being put toward a new green play space for the kids.
Take your time strolling the French Market Square from 11am to 4.30pm. On offer will be fifteen French inspired stalls including homewares and décor, children's wares, candles, books, plants, cakes and jams. Organisers use the word 'famous' to describe their cake stall and I, for one, would certainly love to see that.
The main stage will host a bevy of local and European inspired performances including Melbourne's French Choir, the CPS X-Factor competition, the Bohemian Nights French Gypsy Quartet and plenty more right through to 8pm.
Take home something special from the silent auction, and try you luck on the big raffle.
Kids will be happy as Pierre in a patisserie with the selection of rides on offer. Discover the dodgem cars, Cha Cha, rock climbing wall, giant slide, water balls and plenty more. There will additional activities for kids to enjoy including a movie in the big screen, farmyard zoo and craft room.
Of course, no fete is complete without an extensive range of food and drink, and the Camberwell Primary School promises not to disappoint. With a distinctly French inspired menu, sip on French wine while trying to choose between brioche sliders or snails (oh my), French fries and crepes or opt for something from the café or the BBQ. There will be heaps to choose from and for a full run down of all the food options on offer, rides, entertainment and more, please visit the Camberwell Primary School – The French Fete website.
The Camberwell Primary School Fete is being held on Saturday 25th March 2017 from 11am to 8pm at 290 Camberwell Road, Camberwell. Entry to the market is free.
