If you think Caloundra has a sleepy night-life, then you will be surprised to find a packed house at Club Central Caloundra. The club is located on the corner of Authur and Bingera Terrace and is home of the .

We decided to go barefoot bowling on our holidays. It's only five dollars per person, which covers the cost of hiring a set of bowling balls and tuition (if needed). We took classes several years ago but found it was too hot to play in Brisbane, so we were a little rusty on our technique.

The first step is take off your shoes and one person throws the white puck. Then you stand on the white mat and throw your ball with the lighter side weighted in the middle of the direction you want it to go. It helps to select a spot on the other end of the bowling green and point your foot, ball and/or arm in that direction. Then you can adjust your target for resulting shot and length.

We soon got our bowling technique back and played for around an hour. Barefoot bowls is available on Friday evenings from 5:30pm.

If you want to eat in the club after barefoot bowls, I recommend pre-booking a table because it was packed the Friday night we went. is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week from 10am until late.

Club Central Caloundra hosts live entertainment, raffles, pokies and meals start from around ten dollars. There is a free courtesy bus.
