On December 10th Nova 919 afternoon radio host Cale Porter put on an event for charity starring comedy hypnotist Isaac Lomman. Porter has set out to raise at least $10,000 for Can: Do 4Kids and Deaf Can: Do by April 2015. Can:Do 4Kids and Deaf Can:Do support people in our community who are deaf, blind or sensory impaired. They do so much, so we want to give something back. Whilst Can:Do 4Kids and Deaf Can:Do receive some government funding, this only covers the cost of providing support and vital therapy to half the number of people who turn to Can:Do for help.
Cales Comedy Hyponitist night featured a raffle to help raise money. Tickets were $2-$3 and some of the prizes including a Jim Beam pack, Cadbury Chocolate Hamper and Crows Monopoly board game. There is also a grand raffle drawn in February 2015 with many prizes including Ed Sheeran tickets.
Opening acts including comedians Fabian Clarke and Thomas Green. The audience had a fun night and some even jumped at the chance to be hypnotised. Lomman hypnotised volunteer audience members on stage. Cale Porter said "Thanks to everyone who came to my comedy hypnosis night at The Arkaba with Isaac Lomman! We raised $4,000 for Can:Do 4 Kids!"
