Milking the Fun at Caldermeade Dairy Farm

Caldermeade Dairy Farm
The Caldermeade Dairy Farm is a fully functioning commercial dairy farm situated on the South Gippsland Highway, Caldermeade, just south of the Koo Wee Rup turn-off.

See where milk really comes from. A purpose built viewing platform looks over the entire milking shed, giving a clear bird's eye view of the cows, the staff hard at work and the process that brings milk fresh from the farm and into our homes.

The cows are milked at 3.30pm every day and the general public are welcome FREE to see the milking process first hand.

If you are driving past - perhaps on your way to Phillip Island or Wonthaggi - feel free to call in for a wander around and enjoy a quality coffee, milkshake or ice cream. Stretch your legs while the kids enjoy the adventure playground - or make Caldermeade your destination and enjoy lunch in the charming cafe by the fire, on the enclosed patio or out on the lush green lawn.

Things to See and Do at Caldermeade Dairy Farm

Enjoy a milkshake / coffee / meal in the fully licensed café. Dine inside, on the patio or choose a picnic table out on the lawn.

Pat the baby animals in the animal enclosure. Get up close and personal with the calves, lambs, chickens and peacocks. See the rabbits playing in their enclosure on the lawn and if you're lucky the horses and goats may come to the fence to say hello.

The adventure playground will keep the kids happy and active for ages - and there is plenty of room to run around or kick a ball.

See the cows being milked!!! Milking starts at 3.30pm daily and takes about an hour. The cows are fun to watch, jostling for their place on the carousel. Some enjoy the ride so much they refuse to get off and have to go round twice!
