Health experts suggest that children need 60 minutes of physical activity a day for health and fitness with muscle strengthening 3 days a week.

Caldance classes (calisthetics) are an enjoyable way for kids of all ages to develop this fitness level while building physical strength, balance and coordination, self-discipline and rhythm. Through a combination of controlled exercises and gymnastics, children learn routines of 3 to 4 minutes duration that are choreographed to music and often presented at competition level.

These routines involved rhythm, timing, floor pattern, march, gymnastic elements and using apparatus. All coaches are accredited by Australian Coaches Council and the classes are conducted at recreational, competitive and elite levels.

There are classes available for all ages: under 5s, 3 to 6 years, 6 to 9, 9 to 12 years old, solos and duos. And at $7 per child per class, the cost of classes won't dent your budget.

Classes are held at Tallebudgera Community Hall on Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons and Wednesdays at the Family Centre- Gold Coast Christian Family (Mosaic Church) Mudgeeraba.
