The Crown Casino is arguably one of Melbourne's best attractions, so it's little wonder that the owners of its cafes and restaurants continually strive for better service and quality food. Calatrava is no exception to this rule, with its self-styled in-house ice-creamery. They are also milkshake specialists, so does that give them the title of milkshakery, too? You be the judge.

The Calatrava deliberately occupies Shop 34 of the Crown Entertainment Complex, making it all too tempting for people leaving casino property. It doesn't matter how you feel, if the temperature is warm and you're about to go for a walk along the promenade, would you not grab a lemon gelati ice cream on the way out? Or perhaps you'd need to slurp down a delectably smooth chocolate milkshake? Either way, Calatrava will meet your demands.

Unfortunately one of the greatest drawbacks for Calatrava is that it doesn't accept credit cards. Just save some gold coins in that cup you get from the cashier's desk.

Are you serious? The pistache is bright green! A sure sign the gelato is rubbish. But just to make sure, I tried a sample, and it is rubbish. Before you start commenting on good food, at least find out what good food is first. Amateur.
