Guaranteed to be a whip-cracking performance
Calamity Jane sweeps into Canberra's Playhouse Theatre from 15-19 August and, if it's anything like the movie of the same name, it's bound to have the audience singing and tapping along. I love all of the classic musicals but for me, Calamity Jane was the first to showcase a leading lady who just oozed pluck; when she said she would do something she did it, and she could ride, shoot and chase baddies with the best of them!

This stripped back and engaging production has picked up a suite of awards to date, ably led by Virginia Gay (of TV's Winners and Losers fame and an accomplished singer) as Calamity. There are seven performances in Canberra, including afternoon matinees on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 August, and heaps of ticketing options available starting from $59 for adults. So better get (whip)cracking and buy your tickets now!
