Chicken parmigiana
What started as a sole trading family-operated business is now a well-known South Australian franchise with multiple stores. One such store is located in Morphett Vale approximately 25 kilometres south of Adelaide city. I had the opportunity to dine there yesterday and was very impressed with both the food and the service.
Caffe Primo Morphett Vale offers a reasonably wide selection of pasta with either spaghetti, penne or fettuccine. There's of course the traditional bolognese and carbonara to satisfy any cravings. A range of burgers such as pulled pork, BBQ bacon, southwest chicken, etc are available too. They're served with chips, tomato sauce and aioli. Other mains include seafood, chicken and meat dishes as well as vegetarian and non-vegetarian salads. The full menu can be found
here .
Complimentary pancake
I've been longing for a
parmi for a while, and so my order had got to be chicken parmigiana. The chicken breast was juicy not dry, the crumbling was crispy not soggy, the napolitana sauce was flavourful, and the cheese melted nicely. Overall, it was delicious. The menu states that main meals come with complimentary garlic bread at lunch. However, when ordering, I was given the choice of garlic bread or pancake. A bonus indeed! The pancake was soft, fluffy and golden brown. Lastly, the service provided by two lovely female staff couldn't be faulted.
You'll find the cafe at 151 Main South Road in Morphett Vale. It is open from 11:30am to 2:30pm for lunch and from 5pm to 8:30pm for dinner. Breakfast is available on weekends. For further information, head to
