No Excuse to Skip Lunch With Tasty Offerings at Caffe Etto
Caffe Etto in the HQ Complex is Your New Lunch Venue
It's not often that the lunch time crowd have the opportunity to get a fast, fresh, healthy meal. Too often they have to resort to grabbing a ready made sandwich and can of drink, or perhaps a chocolate bar and an sugar filled iced coffee. Luckily, workers in the Fortitude Valley area have a great alternative. Housed in the HQ Complex they will find a great little cafe run by a dedicated and friendly Brisbane family, whose wider family group operate a number of popular Brisbane eateries including the Wrapped Cafe Outlets.
Caffe Etto offers fresh sandwiches, burgers and salads along with breakfast offerings for those who can't drag themselves out of bed early enough to make their own. For those who find eating gluten difficult, there are plenty of alternatives to house your favourite filling, including gluten free bread and wraps. On the day we were there, fresh roasts sat in the cabinet ready for hot rolls, while salads tempted with their bright colours.
My Lamb Yiros Was Yummy, Served with Fresh Greek Salad
On my visit I enjoyed a freshly made lamb yiros, with possibly the softest pita bread I had ever experienced. I was so impressed that I asked manager, Anthea, where she got them from. Apparently they are sourced fresh each day from a local bakery.
You should definitely give these a try. It was served with a Greek salad that paid testimony to the owners origins. The fetta and olives were some of the nicest I have tasted and it was not drowned in masses of lettuce leaves as many salads seem to be these days. The food was brought quickly and the staff were pleasant and helpful. As we sat enjoying our lunch there were a steady stream of customers who seemed to be on good terms with the staff, indicating that these lunch time munchers are return customers.
Since we didn't have to rush off to work, we were able to stay a bit longer and enjoy coffee and cake, though I must admit we were so full from our ample servings that we did decide to split a slice between us. With my husband being a coeliac, we were delighted to find that lots of the desserts on offer were from OMG its Gluten Free. We enjoyed a white chocolate and macadamia slice with our excellent coffee. To find out more about the OMG bakery, check out their website.
As well as offering wonderfully fresh food for hungry Valley workers, Caffe Etto has a catering service that offers breakfast, sandwich, hot finger food and platter selections which are reasonably priced and suitable for your next function. Orders need to be placed by 12pm the previous day so that your food can be made fresh. To find out more, give them a call on 3852 3000 or visit their Facebook Page.
If you are fed up with the standard lunch time fast food fair, Caffe Etto is definitely worth a visit. Their wide selection of fresh, healthy and tasty lunch options, which range from $4 through to $11 will have you coming back for more.
