Caffe Acqua is one of the restaurants located at the Churchill Centre at Kilburn, offering Australian cuisine. During our visit, we ate the Acqua Fish Burger, Gourmet Vegetarian Pizza, Chicken Schnitzel and Amatriciana Pasta.

The Acqua Fish Burger was a bit messy to eat, but the crisp coating of battered barramundi fillets contrasted nicely with the tender, flaky flesh. The Cos lettuce, tomato and Acqua-made tartare sauce helped to round out the flavour of the barramundi and the serving of chips were golden brown and fluffy with just the right amount of seasoning.

The penne pasta we chose to accompany the Amatriciana sauce was cooked to al dente and its flavour was lifted by the bacon, garlic and tomato in the sauce with a hint of spiciness from the chilli. It comes served with a sprinkling of shaved Parmesan cheese that adds a salty hit without overpowering the sauce. Other options for the pasta included spaghetti and fettuccine, with a bit of extra cost if you want gluten free pasta.

Acqua's Chicken Schnitzel was of a fairly generous size, with a crisp coating and perfectly cooked meat. While the pepper sauce we chose was a bit watery, it still had enough peppery flavour to make it enjoyable. Instead of pepper sauce, you can also choose gravy, mushroom sauce, Dianne sauce or garlic cream sauce.

They also offer a good range of pizzas, the Gourmet Vegetarian pizza featuring eggplant, roast pumpkin, mushroom, baby spinach, onion, olives, roast capsicum and fetta. The base was cooked just right with the various toppings complementing each other wonderfully with a salty hint from the fetta.

Caffe Acqua offers daily specials during weekdays, such as receiving another main meal for half price when you purchase one on Tuesdays and Schnitzel Nights on Wednesdays allowing you to get their schnitzels at a reduced price. Ambience of the restaurant was good, with plenty of parking space at the carpark in front.
