Let's face it, there aren't a lot of restaurants open in the evenings in Inverloch. Café Tsunami is one which reliably opens its doors (except on Sundays) and hungry Inverlochians flock there with regularity.

You only have to drop in to see why. It's one of the more pleasant places to be. The open plan restaurant, with a roomy deck, has potential to get hectic when it's full, but instead it just feels lively. Staff zoom between tables ensuring that orders are taken speedily and food delivered in good time. It's the kind of place where everyone seems to be having a good time, and you can't help but join in with them.

The food itself is regular Australian café fare, a mix of pastas and bigger plates (although there's a strange touch of Tex-Mex in there as well). I have sampled the pasta a couple of times and found it unobjectionable. Others at my table had a similar experience with their salads and fish.

Café Tsunami isn't the place for fine dining, but it's not the bottom of the range by any means. Compared to the other places available in Inverloch, it has a lighter, friendlier atmosphere. For a casual and fun night out, I'd recommend it.
