Situated 5 mins from the M1's Ormeau roundabout is the Royale Cafe. It offers basic but well cooked food and a welcome pitstop for the weary traveller and I could do no better that to quote a description of the Cafe Royale that I read the other day "Cafe Royale helps their customers fill their bellies and get their caffeine hits during the day." - Groupon. This is certainly what it does well and to cook simple food well is something that they should be applauded for!

We stopped by for 'Breaky Royales' - which was simply eggs, bacon, sausage, hash-brown and toast washed down with English breakfast tea. There were no surprises and everything was well cooked and tasty. At $17 per person we both felt that it was good value. Alternative dishes on the menu were Eggs Benedict, crepes, a range of burgers and salads. All at reasonable prices.

When entering the establishment we received a cheerful hello, placed at our table for two and the order dutifully taken. We had a very short wait for the meal with tea being served whilst waiting. The waitress was extremely courteous and was obviously customer orientated.

The restaurant was extremely clean and well presented. A nice touch was to be cheerfully asked if we enjoyed our meal on the way out and be to be sure and call again in the future.
