Where the locals go for their breakfast treats

Cafe Q is located along the trendy cafe strip opposite Bronte Park. After a morning stroll or maybe an afternoon enjoying the beach, Cafe Q is a good place to meet up with friends for one last coffee before heading home.

There are many eateries in this trendy strip, however at Cafe Q you get the sense that this is the 'local's' cafe, where the locals go for their breakfast away from home or grab a quick coffee with mates.

Cafe Q is a good old fashioned cafe with a comfortable homely atmosphere, furnished with mismatched tables and chairs and offering simple cafe fare. After a day at the beach, we stopped in to Cafe Q for a coffee to finish off our visit to Bronte.

It was slightly windy that day, so we opted to sit inside but were lucky enough to get a table just inside the entrance so we could still indulge in some people watching as people strolled up and down along Bronte's main cafe strip to and from the beach.

The service was efficient, though not particularly friendly. The waitress quickly cleared the table as we sat down, and promptly dropped some menus on the table. She returned a few minutes later to take our order without too much fuss or fanfare. The only complaint I had was that we were offered water only after we had finished our coffees and were getting ready to leave.

Whether you are dining inside the cafe or at one of their outdoor tables on the footpath, you will definitely feel the gentle sea breeze blowing.

Cafe Q Food

Cafe Q offers your standard cafe food that you would expect at your local cafe eatery. For breakfast, there is a good variety of typical options including a Big Breakfast, Eggs on Toast, Eggs Benedict, Muesli, Organic Porridge, Crepes and French Toast.

For lunch, you can choose from sandwiches, burgers, a BLT and a fantastic minestrone soup.

Getting There

Parking: Most of the streets directly adjacent to Bronte Beach have restricted (1 hour limit) and ticketed parking.  However, if you're willing to take a very short walk up the hill on the south side you'll find unrestricted parking along Calga Place and Macpherson Street.

Bus: Catch Bus Number 378 from Railway Square in the Sydney CBD, which runs along Oxford Street to Bondi Junction and takes you right to Bronte Beach and drops you off directly opposite the trendy cafe strip where Cafe Q is located.
