As the name suggests, serves you food fast without compromising on quality or taste. Pronto is Spanish for promptly or quickly and comes from the Latin word 'promptus' meaning prompt.

We have eaten here several times and are always satisfied with the whole experience. You know what to expect when your food comes out. It is delicious, with the plate holding good size portions and reasonable prices to match.

The service is just as quick. From the moment you sit down, to the time you order and receive your food. Waitstaff are efficient and nothing is a problem. Three dining areas are offered, each different in their own right.

Inside is cosy, free from the elements and has both casual and more formal sections. There is open plan, nooks and a closed off room with French glass doors, for choice.

A small, welcome and comfortable arm chair setting is located near the fireplace for winter time.

At the front of the premises, low balcony dining overlooks the water of the Mandurah Estuary across the road and the old traffic bridge. Sit back and watch the bustle of the street go by.

Out the back the alfresco courtyard is undercover, plus open-air and provides another option, which is especially good for people who like their children to be able to run around.

Back to the first and foremost reason for being at a restaurant; the food of course. Starters or sharing plates are around $8-$24 per dish. Entrees are priced between $20-$42 depending upon choice and quantity of food, with a nice selection of Main meals also within this range. Additions or Side dishes are $10-$15.

A short Fast Track Lunch Menu is available for those in a hurry anywhere between 11.30am and 5.30pm. Price is $14-$24 for set items. Several mouth-watering selections for Desserts are on offer for $8-$15. Coffee, Tea and Dessert Liqueurs can be found on the Main Menu with all of the above as well.

The Caesar Salad has generous lashings of chicken, bacon, parmesan, egg, anchovies, baby cos lettuce with Caesar dressing and is worth the $26 you pay. Pronto's special signature Steak Sandwich is also a good bite.

On a separate occasion at our last sitting we had:

Chicken Parmigiana – The chicken was very succulent and tasty.

Warm Thai Beef Salad – This was eye-catching and yummy; encased in a large crispy shell filled with beef strips, chilli, cashews, capsicum, red onion, Thai sauce and a green salad assortment.

Crumbed Calamari entrée – Calamari was beautifully cooked; thick, tender pieces. This would almost pass for main meal size.

Chicken Nuggets and Chips – Kids love this treat. They eat well at home, but won't budge past their favourites at a restaurant. This was topped off with ice cream sundaes, including chocolate and caramel sauce.

Kids Menus are for under 12's and list around ten food choices, including drink. The menu forms part of the double A4 colouring page that kids are given with a holder full of coloured pencils to keep them occupied while waiting.

By the time we were done sharing an entrée and eating our mains, we were so full that we decided we would only buy mains when eating at again. The food is so good that, besides wasting, you don't want to leave any on the plate and the meals are quite big; extremely filling.

I'm still full as I write this article; compliments to the chef and his team.

Special requirements can be met for gluten free etcetera. Just remember to ask about options when ordering. Alternatively, enquire about possible arrangements if you book ahead.

is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner from 7am to 10pm weekdays and Sunday. On Saturday they run until 12am; such a busy restaurant. Pronto boasts seating availability for 300 people, which they also say makes them the biggest café in Mandurah.

If you want to plan your next function or your wedding this is certainly a good, all-round place for it. Besides the main menu, they have a great catering menu with cocktail food and a large selection of assorted platters.

Catering can be done here or delivered off-site at your chosen venue. E-mail: [email protected], phone or fax the restaurant to setup your next function .

We won't even go into their long list of awards , including Peel's Barista of the Year for Best Coffee . You'll just have to try them out for yourself. Maybe next time we won't stuff ourselves and we'll get to try one of the delectable sounding desserts.

The old photos displayed throughout the restaurant tell a story all of their own. There is a lot of history surrounding this building formerly known as 'Eureka Cottage,' which has existed since around 1915.

With over $1.5 million in renovations now complete, has been enhanced, but kept its historical value and appeal. It may very well be heritage listed, which would explain one of the needs for specialist builders to undergo this type of work.

has a rear carpark, disable parking access and ramps; making it easy to find a spot. Not many spaces are available on the street front side.

You can find them at the corner of Pinjarra Road and Mandurah Terrace in Mandurah. Phone (08) 9535 1004 or fax (08) 9535 9604 for enquiries.
