[ADVERT]When is a cafe not just a cafe? When it's also a children's boutique shop - or plant nursery and florist - or carwash - or boutique home furnishings and interior design store. Concept stores, which often combine cafes with other types of shops are popping up around Brisbane.

Whether you are looking for something a little bit different, or simply need to multitask whilst relaxing in a cafe, then try some of these ideas. Here are some of my favourite 'cafe plus' places.

1. Lily G - 172 Bennetts Rd, Norman Park.
Enjoying a coffee at Lily G, "your respite from the world"

Billed as "your respite from the world", Lily G's tranquil cafe is tucked away inside a beautiful home furnishings and interior design store. The ideal place to flip through some style magazines and daydream about outfitting the perfect house, whilst sipping a cafe latte.

2. Urban Harmony - Ground floor, 189 Cavendish Rd, Coorparoo .
Open during school hours and Saturdays 9 - 3, Urban Harmony combines the most delicious food and drinks with boutique baby's and children's wear. They stock some divine brands of baby and children's wear, making it a wonderful place to pick up a special present for a small one or new mum, while tucking into their fruit salad with yoghurt and muesli and a cupcake for the little ones.

3. The Cottage Garden Nursery - 999 Stanley St east, East Brisbane.
Located on Stanley Street in East Brisbane, you'll be able to enjoy a relaxing coffee within the greenery of a nursery garden
Set amongst the most breath-taking greenery, The Cottage Garden is one of the most relaxing places to enjoy a coffee or one of their delicious cakes. The cafe is nestled within the extensive nursery, florist, herb gardens and antique pieces which are all available for purchase, making your only problem which addition to your garden you should leave with.

4. Hoppy's Handwash Cafe - Bowen Hills, Norman Park, Toowong.
This practical combination of cafe and carwash, makes Hoppy's Handwash Cafe a popular choice for everyone who doesn't enjoy washing their own car. The coffee and snacks are good and it has to be the best way I can think of to get a rather annoying chore done in the most convenient and pain-free way possible.
What could be easier than enjoying a coffee while someone else washes your car?

I love the idea of combining two of my favourite past times - shopping and drinking coffee into one convenient location, so I love the different concept stores popping up around Brisbane. These are some of my favourite 'cafe plus' places around my corner of Brisbane. What are some of yours?
