Stumble into this cute Vietnamese Cafe for Weekend Breakky
If you haven't been to Cafe O Mai early on a Saturday morning just after you've stumbled out of bed with a slight hangover and a hankering for a pork crackling Banh Mi then you haven't really experienced life in Annerley yet.
A gorgeous Vietnamese bistro which literally translates to Cafe of the Dried Appricot (how sweet!), this is becoming a Brisbane must-do. Packed to the gills on a weekend, it's often hard to get a seat but luckily they offer takeaway too so you can rock up in your barely-disguised PJ's and gorge yourself when you get home.
The breakfast menu offers really different fare compared to your usual Brisbane breaky with no sign of the traditional Big Breakfast or Eggs Bennie. If you're not going to get a Banh Mi, the next obvious choice is the O Mai Phat Breakfast which is a mash up of eggs, sausage, bacon, mushroom, tomato and sweet potato hash brown all in a delicious Vietnamese sauce. It comes with sourdough and you simply can not be hungry after scoffing it down.
There's options for the sweet tooths out there with a Brioch French Toast or O-Mai house-made Granola and Yoghurt along with lunch menu if you want to head there a little later in the day. It's all simply amazing and you can top it off with a Vietnamese coffee made on condensed milk or a refreshing Soda Chanh which is a type of Lemon Soda. If this hasn't got your taste buds going, I don't think much will so you better head to Cafe O Mai quick smart to give in to your hunger!
