Some days you just need a massive bowl of pasta. At times like this, I turn to Lygon St in Carlton, and Italian restaurants like Cafe Notturno.

My pasta, like the establishment, wasn't super fancy but it was pretty yum, a generous size, and only cost $12.60 (though the waitress did dutifully try to up-sell me).

I only get a half hour break for lunch. Luckily, my food only took approximately this long to arrive.
15 minutes
15 minutes isn't bad.

I spent this time watching the cool, calm and collected chef behind the counter in the kitchen (frying eggs and bacon they serve all day breakfast here). But strangely, my pasta was couriered down from upstairs.

Here are the mystical stairs from whence my pasta came:

Lots of desserts are to be had here.
What meal would be complete without gelati?

Seems like the kind of place that would really come alive at night.

Cafe Notturno I'd visit again.
