Some days you just need a massive bowl of pasta. At times like this, I turn to Lygon St in Carlton, and Italian restaurants like .


My pasta, like the establishment, wasn't super fancy – but it was pretty yum, a generous size, and only cost $12.60 (though the waitress did dutifully try to up-sell me).

I only get a half hour break for lunch. Luckily, my food only took approximately this long to arrive.

I spent this time watching the cool, calm and collected chef behind the counter in the kitchen (frying eggs and bacon – they serve all day breakfast here). But strangely, my pasta was couriered down from upstairs.

Seems like the kind of place that would really come alive at night.
