Looking for somewhere to get a really good breakfast after a walk along the Brighton beach esplanade? Cafe Lune is the place to go. I have visited this cafe quite a few times for breakfast and it has never let me down. Nice coffee, fast service, and the smoked salmon dish is delicious!
Cafe Lune is open 7 days a week and features both indoor, and outdoor seating. Customers with dogs are also welcome outside.
There are a lot of healthy dish choices on the menu which really appeals to me, as well as gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. Some popular breakfast dishes I always see on diners tables are the breakfast greens (broccolini, kale, zucchini, asparagus, mushroom, pine nut, sesame, quinoa, parmesan, poached eggs), the smoked salmon (smoked salmon, poached eggs, smashed avocado, Persian fetta, pumpkin seed rye), and the halloumi dish (halloumi, smashed avocado, potato hash, charred corn, poached egg). These dishes are all really nicely presented which makes the whole experience fun and inviting.
My next venture to Cafe Lune will have to be for lunch or dinner to try out more on the menu. They make fresh pasta and bread in-house and also have musicians for entertainment in the afternoons. I'm interested to try the duck salad for lunch (confit duck leg, apple, baby beetroot, walnut, bitter leaves) and the steak for dinner (hanger steak, smoked mash, heirloom carrot, dijon, jus).
The food is described as contemporary cuisine, and this really shows with the amount of choice available for customers, the impressive presentation of dishes, and the 3 separate menus for different mealtimes.
