Freelance writer from Brisbane exploring the city and surrounds to find the best coffee
Published October 29th 2019
Café Impero is a newer cafe and has a fusion of Asian and Australian breakfast and lunch foods. It is located on Logan Rd on the Mt Gravatt high street. With a range of options, including vegetarian meals, delicious milkshakes and fresh juices, it's a good addition to a somewhat reduced café area in Mt Gravatt.

Cafe Impero shopfront, Mt Gravatt

On a busy Saturday, the service was still efficient and it was a quick wait for meals. On a personal note which I appreciated, when requesting no garlic mushrooms with my meal due to an allergy, the owner came out of the kitchen to assure me I would receive extra halloumi or toast to make up for it. This kind of service can be a rarity and deserved to be mentioned here.

The seating area, both inside and alfresco, was comfortable with modern décor. I enjoyed my meal and dining experience, with the owners being chatty and happy to help, even during one of their busiest periods. The food was delicious, and I highly recommend the dumplings, which are cooked on-site from scratch.

Fresh apple, orange and watermelon juice- deliciously refreshing

Cafe Impero is good value for money and the fresh orange, apple and watermelon juice felt like the first taste of an excellent summer ahead. With a relaxed vibe, careful cooking and great customer service, I'll be returning to Cafe Impero soon.
