A delicious way to enjoy live music
Ever wondered if there's such a place on the Sunshine Coast that combines great live entertainment, even better food and BYO, with an infectiously friendly atmosphere?
Well, look no further - I have found the place for you! Cafe Envy, situated on Brisbane Road in Mooloolaba (with a sister cafe in Cotton Tree) not only is one of my favourite places to drop in and grab a great coffee, a bite to eat or indulge in something scrummy from the sweets cabinet, it has now become one of my favourite places to go for dinner on a Friday night.
Don't let its modest size fool you. This funky little venue is jam packed with culture and has definitely found the key to balancing the infusion of a great place to go for dinner and an awesome live music venue and named it "Cafe Envy Unplugged" . What more could you ask for when looking for something a little different to do on a Friday night?
For $30 per person, you receive a choice of one of their great main meals (they have thought of it all) from their famous open grills or burgers to the Chefs special on the night, the accompaniment of some great acoustic, local music and BYO. The meals here are all prepared fresh on site and their ingredients include free range and organic produce, covers all appetites and has gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options available.
Something I come across a lot here on the Sunshine Coast, is people wanting to know where they can find a great venue that provides entertainment, great food, an inviting atmosphere and can support local talent. Cafe Envy certainly provides this and much more when it transforms from a day time cafe, into a live acoustic music lounge every Friday night. However music and mouth watering meals are not the only things that Cafe Envy provides to stimulate the senses, it also features its own little gallery, showcasing beautiful works of mostly local artists and photographers from right here on the Sunshine Coast. This little venue certainly provides a great outlet for locals to get their artwork and music out there and for anyone who enjoys the perfect balance of great food, live entertainment and BYO, without the having to fight through the crowds of large over packed venues.
So next time you're looking for a different way to spend your Friday evening, why not make a booking to go and enjoy a fresh flavoursome meal that offers so much more! Cafe Envy Unplugged sure is a delicious way to discover and support great local talent and welcome the weekend in.
