Update March 29th 2018
When I passed this venue in March 2018, it was either closed or being renovated. The sit may have been sold.
The Cafe Delights offers a range of food, from bakery products such as pie, chips and gravy to Indian dishes such as butter chicken. They also have a range of cakes and gelato; as well as yiros, hamburgers, fish and chips. They are situated on the corner of Waterloo Corner Road, Salisbury Highway and Park Terrace.
The Cafe Delights site offers the advantages of being approachable via side streets and represents a more relaxed setting than the main Salisbury shopping district to have lunch and meet friends. They also have a drive-through service.
Looking on the internet, I see this Café has received mixed reviews in terms of staff communication and customer satisfaction. I believe this is the result of being under new management and the multi-cultural nature of their food selections. Given time, this restaurant will add value to Salisbury take-away and restaurant facilities.
When I visited I thought the venue was lovely. The dining area is generous and the serving area appeared clean. The chips I ordered were lightly spiced and the pie was a Vili's pie. I am very fussy regarding my pies, requiring them to have a nice balance of meat and gravy, without any distracting spice or sweetness. Vili's pies pass these tests.
