At the opposite end to Lime Cafe (the green one) on Chevron Island is another awesome corner cafe restaurant called (the red one). Being just at the end of my road, I go here a couple of times a week (I am here whilst I write this) and I am never disappointed.

Whether you are looking for just coffee and something naughty, or a larger breakfast or lunch, it's always delicious and served with the biggest of smiles and welcomes.

They serve the usual varieties of coffee, potentially one of the best mochas I've had in my 2 years on the coast, plus excellent breakfasts (I highly recommend the breakfast bruschetta, yummy) and fabulous lunches (I had the chicken avocado melt which was delicious). Latte is just $3.80, Mocha is just $4.20 and most breakfasts and lunches are around $12-$18, which is great value for money, as the portions are generous and food is high quality.

Often I have rolled in (literally with a pram) after a long morning with my newborn and its lovely to have a welcoming face that wants to help. I'm still new to manoeuvring myself with a pram and on a number of occasions the staff have moved tables or watched the pram whilst I paid, rather than me struggling inside up the step.

That's what makes this place a stand out for me, the service, as lets face it, there are so many great coffee places on the Gold Coast its hard to distinguish. But here I always feel welcome and part of a community, whatever time and whether busy or quiet.

They offer a homemade cake selection which is really good, the cheesecake is lush. Plus the usual takeaway coffees in their hard to miss branded cups.

If you are looking for a great coffee served with a smile and have exhausted those up and down the coast, then I would highly recommend Chevron Island and . It's located on the corner of Burra Street and Thomas Drive, you can't miss the bright red decor and signage. It's also fully licenced so you can partake in a cheeky beer or glass of vino too.

Open from 7am every day and closes at 4pm, it has both inside and outdoor seating, and the large red umbrellas mean even if it's raining you can still sit outside.

Check them out on Facebook for more info, offers and updates.
