Beware the resident characters may well surprise you
On an average stroll through the Village chock full of exhibitions and memorabilia one might be bailed up by any of several politically incorrect bushrangers who have perfected the art of surprising unsuspecting visitors. This is one of Queensland's most photographed 'wanted' men one of the caretakers hailing from Bright where lost their roofer.

For all those who dreaded school be well prepared as the school principal prowls around searching for truants that cane is real and he might just use it on you.

Silly old Billy goat not the principal duffer, the goat they are so fond of him they even named the tea-shop after him 'The Boiling Billy'. Talk about a poser these resident characters are well trained to keep us all amused.

As for the washerwoman, she must be so hot in that woollen skirt. At least her apron and cap are cotton watch her use that wash board and boiler and be more grateful for your automatic.

These and many more are just a few of the interesting characters lurking about the village which is run by a massive team of volunteers who dress up to play the part and educate the guests. So thank them for their community service or join the team?
