This lovely park is 3.6 hectares. Located in leafy Winston Hills it has plenty to offer. You can get to Winston Hills by the Hills M2 or Windsor Road. Clackmannan Road, where this park is located is a very hilly street great for riding bikes and scooters down, but not so good if you are going up. This street runs into Lomond Crescent which has the Lomond Centre shops. This is tiny but features a little local supermarket selling bread, milk, salads, lollies and ice creams, a pool shop, a hairdressers and even a pizza place called 'Pizza on Lomond', which makes really nice pizzas but it is really popular so you may sometimes have to wait for up to 40 minutes. The park is named after a Scottish sports event in which players throw or toss a 'caber' which is a long wooden pole. This pole can be 5 or sometimes 6 metres long and can weigh up to 60kg. Wow. Many of the streets in this area feature Scottish street names so I guess it is fitting with the theme.

This park features a lovely path that travels the length of the park. You can walk, ride, scooter, skate or skateboard it. As the suburb name suggests this place is very hilly making the track much more fun although, anything on wheels will go very fast down the hills so be careful.

The park has three tennis courts that are available for hire day and night. A clubhouse with a toddler play area right next to the courts, public toilets, bins, cricket pitches, covered picnic tables and BBQ areas. It also has a few separate children's playgrounds, a little bridge to walk across, heaps of lovely big trees that make it nice and shady, a walking track and a basketball court which features a rebound wall so you can practice your tennis swing.

There is also a huge lizard statue. Sounds strange I know, however it does look cool. I don't really get what the kids are supposed to do with it though. I have seen kids jump up and down on it but its cement so that isn't going to end well, neither will climbing on it, one slip could be very painful.

There are quite a lot of places to park also with angled car spaces directly out the front of the park. If these are full you can always park on the street or surrounding streets, although the street is very narrow in some parts.

The tennis courts can be hired for use between 8am till 10pm, 7 days a week. A casual booking is $10 per hour in the daytime and $12 per hour in the evenings. Permanent bookings are charged $8 per hour in the day and $10 per hour in the evenings starting from 6pm.

Beside the tennis courts are more covered picnic tables to sit at. The clubhouse is pretty basic and small but it features a separate toilet, a sink, bench type seating and a small kitchenette. All three tennis courts have covered areas for people to sit and watch or wait for their turn. For bookings call Jason's 4 square store at the Lomond Centre shops that I mentioned earlier
on: 9686 7908.

These tennis courts also have a tennis school. Rod Fahey tennis school runs from 15 locations in Sydney with Caber Park being one of them. They have very professional and good tennis coaches providing group or individual lessons, tennis clinics and even tennis parties.

This tennis school has 12 grading systems to suit anyone at any level. Each school holidays they run tennis clinics for children aged 5-17 years. There are beginner, intermediate and advanced groups. It runs from Monday to Friday school hours 9am- 3pm or you can choose for your child to do half days which is 9am-12pm.

A full day costs about $30 but if your child goes the whole week you only pay about $109, it's also cheaper to do just the half days, five half days will cost you $89. This is a great option for parents who want to keep their children entertained without paying for expensive vacation care.

The kids are required to wear casual clothes, sports shoes, a hat and sunscreen. They also need to bring a packed lunch and drink except for on the Friday when the children are given McDonalds for lunch. They are then included in a presentation where every child gets a prize and a certificate of achievement. This is a fully supervised program. What a great idea for the next school holidays.

The tennis school also does Tennis parties. These parties run for two hours and cost only $15 per head with a minimum of 10 children. They provide the tennis coaches and all the tennis equipment needed, a party gift and even prizes. How great is that? Parents must provide all the food, decorations etc and the parties can only be on the weekends between 10:30am and 2:30pm.

The tennis activities are just for fun so the children don't need to have played tennis previously or even have a racket. What a very unique type of party: it's fun, it keeps the kids active and best of all, out of your home. Check out their website to get more information and to book coaching or a party.

This park has three play equipment areas. One is for the younger kids, one is for the older kids and one is for toddlers. The section for the older kids is up a hill above the tennis courts and it has a huge, tall pyramid like climbing structure, some swings and a large see-saw that goes pretty high. The section that is more for the younger kids which is lower down the hill has a slide, a smaller pretend rock climbing structure, swings and a ride on toy animal with a spring like base. The third play equipment area is only for those that have hired the tennis courts and you need the court's key to get into it. It is a small area with equipment for toddlers right next to the clubhouse. Great for little kids to play on whilst parents are sitting around the clubhouse before or after a game.

This park really is pretty and full of large trees. The park has lots of places to sit with benches and picnic tables in many different spots. Benches are located close to the equipment so parents can rest whilst supervising the kids. It is a nice place to have a really great workout or just to relax in. There are two very large grassed areas that are great to run around on, have a party or play sports on.

Whether you want a nice walk, a game of tennis, play areas for the kids, a family lunch, a fun and active Birthday party or to have tennis lessons this place has it all and is a great place to visit on the weekends. Bring all the family, there is something for everyone.
