Up stairs of an unassuming building, in the industrial area of Marrickville lies the Camelot Lounge. An eclectically decorated bar that perfectly captures the mood of a smokey jazz club (minus the smoke).

Warm curtains and antique lamps entice the audience to feel more like they are in a lounge room witnessing the start of something big. The kind of place 'Armstrong' or 'Simone' might have started their career in.

Tonight the tiny stage is for something big and new to Sydney. The launch of C Major Events Pop Up Concerts. A series of monthly concerts designed to showcase the excellent talent found in Sydney you won't see on reality tv shows.

Tonight see's the 'C Major Show Band' with a guest singer kick off the incredibly smooth and funky sounds expected to wow future audiences.

The venue fills up quickly with no distinguishable audience type. All backgrounds, all ages from twenty something hipsters to elderly couples. With little room to boogie the audience was kept to swaying and swinging their arms in their seats as the hit songs filled the room.

You'd think the singer and band had always performed together but a couple of practice rounds was all they had together and they set the stage on fire. Testament to the talent Beryl Segers, the event manager, always seems to find throughout Sydney.

Future 'C Major Jazz Pop Up' audiences can expect guest performers and musicians to keep the events fresh and exciting.

Each venue will provide a different flavor which will influence the show and music performed. As the weather warms, Beryl hopes to "Move things outside to make the most of some of the amazing outdoor venues Sydney has to offer." Every venue will be easily accessible via public transport and include parking.

The grand debut of the soon to be live 'Divas, Divos & Duets' took to the stage to provide a preview of what they have been working on these past few months. Simon Cowell eat your heart out.

The idea of pop up concerts was about big entertainment in a short space of time in various locations.
The music started at 6pm and by 8pm, the wooden dancefloor was once again empty. Just enough entertainment to extend the weekend without making it a big late night out on a school night.

The next C Major Jazz Pop Up concert will be on Sunday 26th June at the Rocksia Hotel in Arncliff. Pop up events will be held monthly on a Sunday with the last show being held in November.

Tickets start from $25 and can be purchased from www.cmajorevents.com.au or by calling Beryl Segers on 0425 116 707.
