Set a little bit outside of the main township of Byron Bay on Bangalore Road, is The General Store Cafe.



Somewhat of an icon in Byron Bay seen, it is the place to hang out and have a leisurely breakfast. People walk, drive and ride their bicycles here to relax over a lazy vegan brunch or lunch.

All food is plant-based and vegan. With a range of alternative milks, you can have organic hot chocolate or coffee the way you like it.



You can choose from a set menu or they have quite a good range of bakery items including croissants with fresh jam, Chia pots with coconut milk, shredded coconut, fresh berries and house-made granola with nuts. (Super yummy, I had this and was so full I didn't need anything for the rest of the day).



The locals seem quite chuffed to advise you "this is where Zac Efron met his current girlfriend" or "she was working here as a waitress". Whatever the claim to fame, this is a fun place to while away some time, fill your belly and meet up with friends.
