In an environmental gesture, in terms of curing us all from our overuse of takeaway coffee cups as well as luring us into the air-conditioned cool of a large shopping centre (and you don't have to ask twice), Westfield Sydney is offering us all a free morning coffee all this week as long as we bring out own mug.
Go on, put one in your work bag now.
The free coffee deal runs from 14th Jan - 18th Jan between the hours of 7 - 10 am.
And it isn't just one coffee shop as various providers are onboard. They are:
The gesture is all about showing you that you don't have to have the latest expensive keep-cup to pick up your coffee in. Yes, you can simply bring your own mug as long as you are mindful of spills. Or if walking around with a mug of coffee doesn't appeal, you are more than welcome to take a seat and relax and enjoy your free coffee.
You need to bring your own mug or reusable cup to be eligible for a free coffee.
Time: 7:00am – 10:00am
Dates: January 14th – January 18th
So what's all the fuss about encouraging people to bring their own mugs?
It is because over 3 billion coffee cups are sold in Australia each year. Westfield is introducing a connected customer focussed sustainability program. They are installing 11 coffee cup separation station bins across the centre to encourage coffee drinkers to appropriately dispose of their cups.
This exciting new initiative will commence from Tuesday 15 January. Do not forget to bring your own mug for a free coffee at participating retailers this week from 7am-10am. Offer ends Friday 18 January. T's and C's apply, click for more info.
