For those who can't get enough of the TV show
Emily in Paris or are simply French pastries lovers, I may have found here in Adelaide the perfect croissant for you to taste!
Located on the east side of Adelaide CBD, in the vibrant Hutt street, you will love Cafe & Bakery and its traditional and delicious French patisseries. Every time I miss France and I just want to remind myself of its beautiful flavours, I can't help visiting and depending on the mood of the day, I savour a generous pain au chocolat (chocolate croissant), or a delicious chausson aux pommes (apple turnover), or a raisin scroll (pain aux raisins) or a simple but perfect croissant with my chai latte.
Why perfect?! Because it just tastes like home! So what are the characteristics to look for the real deal!
First, a perfect croissant must be crispy on top, so when you bite into it, it should break apart. Secondly, it must be crumbly… it is impossible to eat a croissant without making a lot of mess, so it is a good sign to see a lot of crumbs on your beautiful shirt when you bite into this delightful golden half-moon shape! A beautiful croissant is puffy and presents lots of layers with lots of space in between. And last but not least, it smells a delicious taste of butter!
definitely masters the art of the perfect croissant, probably because they serve them with an extra ingredient: passion! Their passion for French pastries is definitely what makes this charming cafe and bakery so special!
And the cherry on the top (or should I say croissant on the top), if you visit on Tuesdays or Thursdays morning around 10am, you will be able to enjoy your latte and favourite patisseries with some beautiful accents in the background as there are some French classes happening... just saying!
