An absurd question I know, however lately I have seen chocolate shoes popping up all over the place. As to why, I am not really sure, however, they certainly are fun and the ones I have seen lately are falling more into the category of art pieces rather than chocolate for eating.

I first found the chocolate shoes phenomena at Phillip Island at Pannys Chocolates. It seemed quite a novelty having never seen chocolate shoes before. However then I ventured into the Block Arcade and found another beautiful display of chocolate shoes. Then last week, entering into Box Hill Shopping Centre I discovered a relatively new cafe called Selene's, again with a beautiful chocolate shoe display.

Have I missed something or is this just the latest fad?

I am wondering where on earth the best chocolate shoes are to be found around Melbourne and I would love to throw this question over to you, our lovely Weekend Notes readers.

Where have you seen this strange phenomena of chocolate shoes popping up?

Where are the most spectacular and beautiful chocolate shoes around Melbourne?

Other than eating them, which I guess really is the only sane option, what on earth do you do with these chocolate shoes?

We would love to hear your thoughts:
Use the comments box at the top of this article to add in what you have seen and your favourite chocolate shoes - perhaps even your advice and what on earth are you doing with this strange new way of creating chocolate. Please don't tell me you're wearing the shoes! Eww and how would you cope with a hot day? It certainly throws a different slant on a Cinderella Story.

We love to hear from you.

Ganache in Collins Street have chocolate shoes. Plain, but elegant and more likely to be eaten than the highly decorated versions.

Fascinating to see such time and skill go into decorating chocolate. I guess they would make an excellent gift for a shoe fanatic.
