Mental activity is strenuous. Thinking makes us humans tired and 'keeps the grey matter going' as they say. Have you ever considered it could be the same for your dog?

As an owner of a very large dog, who is a handful at times, I wanted to learn how to keep my dog occupied, active and enthused and to be able to tire him out, when my husband wasn't available to walk him, or when it was raining cats and dogs.

Enrichment is particularly great for those little darlings who find walks 'challenging' (like mine) or high energy dogs that need that extra effort to tire them out.

There are so many options for activities that help you enrich the quality of time you spend with your dog and strengthen the bond between you, without a walk in sight. Not to say that exercise isn't great — it is — but sometimes daily exercise isn't always possible and the bonus is that it keeps their brains healthy too. Win Win!

Manners N More specialise in helping humans to enrich their dogs' lives. They go way beyond puppy training and the basics sit, drop and stay. They run a variety of programs and workshops where you can learn about giving your dog the most enriched life possible. You don't even have to take your dog.

This isn't just about training, it's about having heaps of fun and laughter as you learn side by side. Understanding canine behaviors and giving your dog the best experiences you possibly can, as their loving partner in a world that can sometimes be very scary to them, can only be a plus, right?

I especially love teaching my dog Conan to search and find, do chores and take part in online competitions with him. He loves winning treats from games and puzzles and all this makes him (and me) super tired but we have such a laugh.

From Sniffer dog workshops, to Rally 'O' online, trick classes, online videos and tips, or one-on-one home sessions, why not give your dog that little bit extra at the weekend and join the Manners n More family?

The Manners n More Busy Canine Brains enrichment workshop is on Monday 6 February – hope to see you there.

See their website or join their Facebook page for upcoming events and more.

Thanks for reading, you're pawsome!
