Who could forget their first visit to a drive-in movie theatre? I couldn't and if you're not fortunate to have experienced this already, then why not take a drive while in the South West of Western Australia and park up at the
Busselton Drive-In Theatre?
The
drive-in theatre boasts on being,
"WA's only remaining country Drive-In" and
"as far as we know" there is conjecture surrounding this claim. It's possibly one of the last in a minority to have made it through the ages, but not the last one in operation in rural areas.

At the Busselton Drive-In Theatre you can expect to view two movies, with an interlude between films. Sometimes longer films are shown and are therefore too long to screen two, although you can expect the timeframe to be relatively the same.
On some nights the movies are aimed specifically at kids or family, with G & PG screenings. Other nights a PG will be shown first with an M rated movie as the second; after children have gone to sleep in the car. There are also selected nights where M only movies are shown.
The price on admission includes the entire night, regardless of the quantity viewed. If you leave early or at the close of one long film or two average length films, this will still cost as follows:
Adult - $15
Child – 4 to 14 years old - $8
Child – under 4 – Free
Senior or Disability - $10
Loyalty Member - $10
To find out what's on and the viewing times for films, please contact (08) 9751 5638 or download a
programme and movie synopsis from the website. With technology further advanced than the days of the speaker hanging over the car door, you can still listen to the film in the old-fashioned way, or tune into 92.5FM for a more crystal clear sound.

Bring your own food or purchase from the drive-in Snack Bar. Yes, the drive-in Snack Bar makes it easy for you to buy your goodies upon entry or just wander up to the shop during the film.

There's a kid's playground between the screen and the carpark for added amusement. It also helps cure boredom for kids who become fidgety after sitting still for long periods of time and need to release their energy.
To avoid inconvenience, it's also important to mention that the venue does not provide eftpos or credit card facilities. Transactions are CASH only. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the grounds by law. If you are a smoker and cannot wait, unfortunately they require you to do so off-site.
If you'd like to contact the Drive-In, further details can be found
