Spend a day in the city watching free performers
Did you know that since its inception in 2011, FRINGE WORLD Festival has become the third largest Fringe in the world?
FRINGE WORLD has so much to offer, so many events, shows, and performers, and there is always something on for all ages - the problem is deciding which ones you actually want to go and see! I end up going to about 4 or 5 as it is not easy to pick a few out of so many hundreds of fabulous events.
Part of the events of this festival is the inaugural City of Perth FRINGE WORLD Buskers Weekender.
Don't miss this free event
This will be a free event and promises to be very exciting as this is often where superb talent is first spotted, and there will be some fabulous acts to be seen. Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber and Perth's own John Butler started their career as buskers, so you never know who you will see at a Buskers Weekender!
The city will come alive with many wild performances from all areas of the globe, from the 2nd to the 4th February, 2018. Whether it be a love story played out in the sky or flame juggling acrobats - you will find it at the City of Perth FRINGE WORLD Busker's Weekender.
Forget boring and forget what you thought you knew about busking and be prepared for some of the greatest entertainment to ever hit the city malls, with a packed programme across seven stages and over three big days! It will be held in the heart of Perth's Murray and Hay street malls and there will be over 100 performances from around the world - so definitely something you do not want to miss seeing at least some of!
Some of what you can experience here will be:

These performers will hustle throughout Forrest Place and Murray St malls from 11.00 am right through to 4.00 pm across the weekend, and from 5.00 pm to 9.00 pm on Friday.
There will be many of these free buskers showing off their acts, over these two days, and some of them include:
Sharon from Canada

Beatles to Buble and Before
Natural WingsSteampunk Samba
Street Magic - Pierre Ulric
Stunt Magic Street Show

And many more

FRINGE WORLD Festival Director Amber Hasler said that this huge new event will "transform the City malls and be fun for the whole family".
And this is all FREE - there will be heaps of new and exciting acts and artists out there every day of the Weekender. One of the highlights of the Weekender will be acrobat Zane from Colossal, who on Sunday 3rd of February, will attempt a Guinness World Records act.
Be there at 11.00 am to see Zane attempt to break the record for the most number of balls juggled, while suspended upside down on a trapeze! WOW!
Lord Mayor, Lisa Scaffidi said the City of Perth FRINGE WORLD Buskers Weekender was a result of the City's sponsorship of the Festival, "with the City committing to a triennial partnership".
The City of Perth has partnered once again with FRINGE WORLD to create this very special free event, where the world's best buskers will be bringing their talents to the streets of Perth.
Great act at Buskers weekender
Ms Scaffidi also stated: "FRINGE WORLD has become such a special and iconic time in the city, and the City of Perth is proud to support the event as it continues to grow."
The Buskers Weekender is free, but "Cash is King!" The performers always hat at the end. This is your chance to show your appreciation for what you have just watched or been a part of!
The best way to get to the Buskers Weekender is via public transport. It's right in the Perth Malls, so the Perth Underground Train Station is a great way to go.
All seven stages at the Buskers Weekender are all within close walking distance of each other and to see a map and the full programme of events, go to this link.
