Ferries, trains and buses can be a great way to explore Brisbane and beyond. But if you really want to feel the sun on your face, the wind in your hair and (it must be said) the lactic acid burn in your legs, you might wish to consider instead signing up for a tour with Bushranger Bikes.
The Bushranger Bikes crew recently explored cycling on Southeast Queensland's brilliant coastal trails for an upcoming segment on Channel 7's Queensland Weekender. And these very tours along 'The Whale Trail' stretching from Tweed Coast to the Sunshine Coast will be offered to cyclists this winter.
Can't wait till then? Other local tours on offer include Bushranger Bikes Brisbane Valley Rail Trail ride from Yarraman to Moore; Ewen Maddock Dam (Landsborough) through to Mooloolah (Kenny's cafe); and the South Burnett Rail Trail Explorer Weekend. For those testing out their cycling chops for the first time (or for the first time in a long time) there are more time-limited mountain biking expeditions to Ironbark Gully, Daisy Hill and other locations.
If you'd rather cycle further afield, the good news is that Bushranger Bikes will also take you for tours of the Victorian High Country; to Sydney and Wollongong; and even along the back roads and bike paths of New Zealand. The latter tours include rides along swing and truss bridges, past fast rivers and rapids, and a one-kilometre long tunnel. So saddle up!
