Celebrate winter at the
Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Gardens with the Bushland Holiday Program. Children and families will absolutely love these seasonally inspired workshops whilst connecting with nature, through imaginative play and immersive learning.
Led by Sunshine Coast's leading nature play facilitators and held in the spectacular bushland of the Botanic Garden, activities include workshops and hands-on nature play.
**MONDAY 26 JUNE : ANIMAL TALK, 9.30am to 12.30pm
Age 7 to 12 years | $10

Do you have a favourite animal? Have you imagined talking to them and them answering back?
Join Nelson from
Wild & Wise Tribe in the
Animal Talk workshop to discover your '
spirit animal' and learn how animals can become lifelong friends and mentors.
Children will be guided on a drum journey, using their imagination and the beat of the drum to discover their animal friends and learn more about their animal, through art, craft and movement.
& #10039 ; Participants need to bring: a yoga mat or towel and a pillow and a blanket or shawl to keep warm during the meditation.
Caregivers must be present.
**TUESDAY 27 JUNE : WHIPBIRDS AND WARMTH, 9.30am to 11.30am

Join Sammy from Childrens Blue Sky Minds on a meander through the Whipbird Walk and
playground, discovering the wonders of the Whipbird Village. Children will learn winter yoga and breathing to connect to the bushland, then settle in a sunny spot to roll a beeswax candle and form a clay candle holder to take home.

**WEDNESDAY 28 JUNE : DREAM PILLOWS, 9.30am to 11.30am

Children will get to make their very own dream pillow with Carly from Natureweavers. They will learn how to eco-print with leaves and flowers onto fabric; sew a pillow filled with herbs – mugwort, chamomile and lavender – to bring the sweetest of dreams. A dream pillow is a wonderful handmade creation to aid sleeping well in winter.

**THURSDAY 29 JUNE : FAIRY FIRES AND WANDS, 9.30am to 11.30am

Share the wonders of fire with your children through the magic of
Fairy Fires and Wands with Carly Garner from Natureweavers.
Children will learn about the fire triangle, fire safety and uses, before building their very own fairy fire from wood, fleece and stone. To spread the fire magic further, children will make a wand, decorated with the colours of fire.
This activity is designed to introduce an appreciation of the element of fire, from a bushcraft perspective, to young children.

Spaces to these workshops are limited and usually sell out very quickly. Please get in quick to register your child's attendance and avoid disappointment.
