If you were lost in the bush for days, what would you eat? This is quite a valid question when we often hear on the news of this happening and how very fortunate the lost are when eventually located.
Bush foods have been an important part of Indigenous Australians diet for thousands of years and we can learn a lot from their knowledge of what nature provides. In fact, there are many trees that grow well in South East Queensland and in our own backyards, which can make a nutritious and tasty addition to our meals.
On Saturday 19th February 2022, the
Northey Street City Farm is hosting another informative workshop titled
commencing at 9.00am through to 12 Noon.
During this three-hour workshop, you will learn how to recognise bush food plants and how to grow and care for them. Dick will also show you how to propagate some plants and how to best place them in your garden to gain the best growth.
The
cost of the workshop is $63.73 (includes fee) for general admission and $48.07 for health care concession holder. Refunds can be given up to seven days prior the event, however, the fee is non-refundable.
Workshops at Northey Street City Farm sell out very quickly, so book early to avoid disappointment. The address is 16 Victoria Street,
Windsor. Telephone (07) 3857 8775.
