The time is fast approaching when Queenslanders will be permitted to overnight away from home. I know that Sunshine Coasters are chomping at the bit to get back to nature, to set up camp with real log fires, providing the perfect backdrop to be at one with Mother Nature. Perhaps you're like me and not so into the whole rough and ready outdoor experience but would prefer somewhere a little less … rustic! Somewhere like ... the Bush Bungalow …
Less than an hour north of Brisbane and approximately 88kms from Buderim, outdoorsy folk have the opportunity to visit the Bush Bungalow at Clear Mountain, a region that is home to many creatives, including painters, sculptors and jewellers. Get back to basics at the almost totally off the grid, Bush Bungalow, for a day or more of pure unadulterated bliss and relaxation. The rural Bush Bungalow can only be accessed with a pair of hiking boots - a short bush hike - or a 4 x 4 vehicle with an experienced off-road driver. Should hiking or 4 x 4'ing not be included in your outdoor repertoire of 'must do's', transportation to your rustic retreat can be arranged.
The Bush Bungalow is an exclusive hideaway, offering leisure seekers the unique time to reflect, write, read, photograph or just to ... chill! Be at one with nature, waking up to melodious birdsong at dawn, alongside the billabong teeming with silver perch, whilst lazy lizards and water dragons bask on the sun-drenched rocks. While away the hours of the day with a good book, a swim in the dam, an adventurous hike to Clear Mountain Conservation Park and sundowners overlooking the water. Enjoy the antics of the local possums, sugar gliders and koalas, whilst they go about their nocturnal activities.
Enjoy the constellation of stars, with a hot outdoor shower
Bush TV activation requires a few logs and firelighters and main TV channels are cooking shows, showcasing damper and caramelised banana marshmallows - don't forget to pack these essentials. The authentic outdoor shower allows you to enjoy the constellation of stars in the night skies above, before tumbling into an ever-so comfy bed.
Guests to the Bush Bungalow have sole access to the bungalow plus the surrounding three hundred metres, during their stay. Which means … you will be totally on your own! Occasionally the hosts and other guests may use the tracks to service the property or to go for a hike.
If you are looking to expand your artistic horizons, why not book an exclusive one-on-one art class with Christa, your hostess at the Bush Bungalow, herself a very creative art and gilding artist. Christa's Art and Gilding workshops are for a minimum of two hours per session and include all materials and can be booked on mobile No 0438 013 907.
Amenities at the Bush Bungalow include:
One bedroom, three beds, one shower, four guests
Free parking on premises

Your well-equipped kitchen with views to the billabong
In the unlikely event that guests may experience cabin fever, there are a variety of cafes to be found in close proximity to Clear Mountain, namely, Dayboro and Samford, giving guests the unique opportunity to explore and discover some additional local treasures.
